Cuomo admin pushing for concessions from state employee unions, DMV supevisor accused of helping son cheat on driver's test, details on proposed Saratoga brew pub, bear attack

The Cuomo administration touted concessions it got in a new contract with a union that reps some state law enforcement employees -- notably a salary freeze, no step increases, and increased employee contributions to health care premiums. Andrew Cuomo called it "a model the other unions negotiating with the state can follow." -- that could head off a potential 9,500 layoffs. PEF says it was offered a similar contract, but says it turned because it "would impose an unfair burden" on union members and "would not ensure PEF members would not be laid off anyway." I just read that we have a delicious new invasive species in NY. Mmmm.

Let me fix that for you...

Now reportedly very tasty in New York State: invasive wild boar.

First person to put up a blog post about murdering and eating one of those pigs gets a cookie. And 400 pounds of premium quality wild-fed pork, of course.

I prefer tarsiers, mr slow loris. Small but tasty...them's good eatin'.

While I understand why they're saying there isn't enough demand, I also am positive I would use cabs more if they were even slightly more affordable and reliable. I have zero interest in using the taxis in Albany, and would rather alter my plans (if possible) than use their service. I feel like the cab companies are saying this is a demand issue, when really it's just a "I dislike you so much, I'd rather find ANY alternative to avoiding you" issue.
