Maceo Parker, this weekend at the Friehoffer Jazz Festival at SPAC

The Freihofer's Saratoga Jazz Festival is this weekend at SPAC, and we've got two pairs of tickets good for the entire weekend. Among the lineup this year: Maceo Parker, Diana Krall, Esperanza Spalding, the Mingus Band, The Yellowjackets and more.

We have two pairs of tickets to give away. To enter the drawing, please post a comment answering this question:

What's your favorite band name? It can be the name of a band that exists, or you can make up one of your own --like a Swedish folk band called No Liquidos Calientes or whatever. That counts.

We'll draw two winners at random. The deadline to enter is Friday, June 29 at 10 am.

Very, very important: One entry per person. You must answer the question to be eligible. You must post your comment by 10 am on Friday June 29, 2012. You must include a working email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by noon Friday (June 29) -- and must respond by 5 pm Friday.

What a sad case. It's very difficult to find a developer with the resources, vision, and commitment to take on a costly and risky project like St. Joe's. It's a shame that the hidebound conservatism of the neighborhood stymied the first and only realistic, pragmatic, and frankly very cool, project to come along in many years. I hope the church and the neighborhood gets one more shot, although I'm not optimistic.
