Ballston Spa Film Festival 2012

The Ballston Spa Film Festival is back this weekend. This year's festival includes 39 short films from five countries, and a few local filmmakers. Here's the full slate of films.

Screenings are at two locations -- the Ballston Spa High School auditorium and Ballston Spa's Wiswall Park (bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs). There are two sessions each on Friday and Saturday evenings. Be sure to check the schedule for times and titles.

The festival is now in its fifth year. It's a good time -- and free. It's hard to beat that combination.

What a sad case. It's very difficult to find a developer with the resources, vision, and commitment to take on a costly and risky project like St. Joe's. It's a shame that the hidebound conservatism of the neighborhood stymied the first and only realistic, pragmatic, and frankly very cool, project to come along in many years. I hope the church and the neighborhood gets one more shot, although I'm not optimistic.
