Old Shoes. In a hotel room.

Something to listen to: Sean Rowe with Railbird's Sarah Pedinotti and Chris Kyle. In a hotel room in Falls Church, Virginia one recent early morning. (That song -- "Old Shoes" -- was on the NBC show Parenthood last month.)

Hey, speaking of Railbird... They debuted a song on MTV's Hive site today. They'll be back in Saratoga this Thursday for a show at Putnam Den. Also on the slate: Cuddle Magic, and The Daredevil Christopher Wright (a trio, none of them named Christopher). It should be a good show. It all starts at 9 pm.

Railbird: Jump Ship

Bubbly. (Really... there are a lot of bubbles.)

Something to listen to/watch: the new video for Railbird's "Jump Ship." The song features Sarah Barthel from Phantogram and Sean Rowe from Sean Rowe.

Railbird will be back in town August September 8 to open for Rowe at Valentine's.

Speaking of Phantogram... Josh and Sarah are back in a barn working on a new album.

Hanging with Railbird

It's like hanging out in the studio with locals Railbird -- but, you know, virtually:

(Doesn't that question always come up in any important enterprise: eat now or later?)

Justin Cerone, one of the producers of the video, says he and production partner Adam Morrell have been following Railbird around as the band records its new album and plays live shows. He says the video will end up in a series of online clips -- and, maybe, a documentary.

Railbird's playing Art on Lark this weekend around 3 pm.

Bonus: Phantogram, in an interview with Filter, on some of their aspirations for the future: "It would be awesome to have our music paired with a film from Michel Gondry, David Lynch, Danny Boyle, Spike Jonze or Wes Anderson."

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?

If winter ever gets its act together and drops more snow on us, there will be sidewalks to shovel. And shortly after that, Albany will... (more)
