Local Congressional races: who's in, who's out

Updated July 2

Both local Congressional races are generating a lot of early activity. The 21st District, which is mostly Albany and Schenectady counties, is open (theoretically) on both sides because longtime incumbent Democrat Mike McNulty is retiring. And in the 20th District, a truly fantastic gerrymander that seems to cover half of eastern New York, Republicans are lining up to take on first-term incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand in what has historically been GOP territory.

So, a lot of people are thinking this might be their year. But worry not conscientious, obsessive voters -- we've put together a scorecard to help keep things organized:

Try parochial schools or any place with a cafetorium (non wood floor large spaces), indoor tennis facilities (years ago the place that is now Afrims put boards around a court and had roller hockey games), community centers, YMCAs, public schools, unrented large retail spaces, watervliet (2nd ave) and albany (hoffman park) have rec centers with large open spaces, the Armory on New Scotland ave used to hold rugby practices in it.
