What your neighbors are watching tonight

nowhere in africa posterAccording to Netflix, here are the DVDs that people in Albany are renting "much more than other Netflix members."

1. Nowhere in Africa

2. Fahrenheit 9/11

3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

4. Brooklyn Rules

5. Awakenings

6. The Wind That Shakes the Barley

7. Cold Mountain

8. Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story

9. Citizen Kane

10. Severance

No, we didn't immediately recognize "Nowhere in Africa," either. (It's a German film about a Jewish family that flees to Kenya to escape the Nazis. It won the 2002 Oscar for Best Foreign Film.) And how about the juxtaposition at numbers 8 and 9? Stewie Griffin and Charles Foster Cane make quite the odd pairing (or not -- they're both megalomaniacal and probably have an obsession with sleds.)

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
