Microserfs
Microsoft has launched a "private beta" of its new subscription version of Office. The code name for the project? Albany. That's prompted some funny sentences, like this one from the Silicon Valley Insider: "The other problem with Albany is that it just an automated downloading and updating of client-side software." Gee Rob, if Microsoft's gonna name its dysfunctional software after dysfunctional city governments, I wonder if Microsoft itself is contemplating changing its name to "Detroit?"
