AOA's Capital Region Outdoor Dining Map

a sample of the Capital Region Outdoor Dining Map

Zoom, click, chill out.

A few weeks back we desperately wanted to go someplace, get something to eat and sit outside. Alas, the weather was a little ahead of local dining establishments that day. But the hunt got us thinking.

And here's the result: AOA's Capital Regional Outdoor Dining Map. It's a listing (and map!) of places you can have a drink or get something to eat -- and sit outside at the same time. There are about 40 establishments on the list right now and we'd very much like to add more (along with pictures and descriptions). If you can think of a few not listed (we know we've missed a bunch), post about it in the comments and we'll add it.

Now all we need is the return of warm weather.

El Mariachi on Hamilton has a fabulous back patio.

Justin's, Totem Sushi, Tess' Lark Tavern, Provence and Beff's in Delmar all have some outdoor seating.

If you extend it to bars and cafes, you could also include Debbie's Kitchen, Scratch, the Daily Grind, the Lionheart and the Ultraviolet Cafe.

Ooops. You already had Provence. Sorry!

This is great!! My friends and I always have the hardest time remembering who has outdoor dining. Yay, AOA!

The Black Cat in Cohoes (White St.) has a very cute, courtyardish area for drinks (food is decent too!!)

I see you have Nicole's Bistro in Quackenbush Square listed, but not Nicole’s Restaurant on Delaware Ave. in Albany. The latter has a nice back patio (and good food, too).

Great idea, by the way . . . thanks for doing this. It'll come in handy . . .

Graney's on New Scotland Avenue has outdoor seating. Also, Recovery Room at the New Hilton Garden Inn on New Scotland has a large outdoor patio.

Thank you for doing this! Last Saturday, my husband and I sat around for an hour thinking of somewhere we could go for dinner and sit outside......once we finally ventured out, the place that we thought might have outdoor seating, didn't!

Pinto and Hobbes has outdoor dining too, underneath an awning along Dove.

The Water's Edge Lighthouse in Glenville...just over the Freeman's Bridge...patio is built overlooking the Mohawk...gorgeous!

Amigo's in Schuylerville. Amazing food!

42 Ferry St
Schuylerville, NY 12871
(518) 695-9595

You forgot My Lihn's, which has a lovely back deck and amazing food.

The Orchard has a large patio/ as well as a covered tent. It is in midtown Albany. Use the website for directions ( off Everett Rd and Central Ave) since most GPS programs seem to be wrong! Live summer music as well.

The Cat's Meow is incorrectly listed on Google Maps as:

14 Karner Rd
Albany, NY 12205

I updated the Google Map to the correct:

14 New Karner Rd
Guilderland, NY 12084

Per Google, it will take a few hours for the update to be published.

Please add Mangia Slingerlands (soon to be the last one standing :( , we're not going anywhere !) located at 1562 New Scotland Road. A nice itimate patio with fantastic food, drink and service! We look forward to seeing you soon.

Here's a few more:

The Wine Bar & Bistro on Lark St. has a great courtyard seating area.

Beff's on Everett Road also has a small patio in the back.

BFS on Western Avenue has a side patio.

The Riverfront Bar and Grill located in Albany's Corning Perserve and The Rusty Anchor located in Watervliet's Hudson Shores Park, are the areas only 2 stationary floating restaurants. All dining at both locations is located outdoors on the Hudson River. The Riverfron will open on May 9th, and The Rusty Anchor opens May 16th

I have a couple more to add:

Jumping Jack's in Scotia
Clinton's Ditch in Schenectady (outdoor patio)

Please add La Serre Restaurant, 14 Green St. Downtown Albany.

Appletini's Cafe
Central Avenue
Albany

Hudson Harbor Steak & Seafood right across from Franklin's Tower has a nice outdoor deck and effing awesome steak
