U Love NY

The state tourism agency is holding a "short film" contest to see who can produce the best "I Love NY" commercial. It seems there are a couple of ways of looking at this: 1) The state is tapping the creativity of citizens or 2) The state is so broke it can't afford to produce its own spots any more.

No...I think this is a fabulous idea...It could be like the youtube, indie version, the avante garde, radical hipster version of why everyday, new yorkers--well, "Love New York"..I think it is a genious marketing campaign...it will take off...

I read that they hired Saatchi & Saatchi to take over the I (Heart) NY campaign. Maybe they just figured out they don't want to pay their fees.

My friend and I were walking back to my apartment after the anti-fracking concert. I live near the corner of dove & Madison. The car & the damage were crazy.
