Nothing says pride like a Tiffany concert
Remember Tiffany, the-sweet faced 80's pop star whose cover of "I Think We're Alone Now" spent weeks on the Billboard top 100? Tiffany who sold millions of albums and concert tickets and vied for our attention with Debbie Gibson? Tiffany who introduced us to The New Kids on The Block when she gave them their big break as her opening act? Yeah... umm...she's playing at The Waterworks this weekend. Yep, the gay bar on Central Avenue.
Apparently Tiffany is launching a comeback with a new dance album and her Waterworks appearance is part of a summer tour. It's also part of Capital Pride Week in Albany, which kicked off with a barbecue last Thursday and culminates this Sunday with the Pride Parade and a festival in Washington Park.
Other Pride Week highlights include:
+ A panel discussion on transgender inclusion in the LBGT community at the State Museum's Huxley Theater Tonight at 7 p.m.
+ Charmed and Dangerous will be joined by local drag divas for a special burlesque show on Thursday at 8 p.m. At Tess' Lark Tavern. Tickets at $15.
+ The annual Alternative Prom for LGBTQ youth and their allies will be held Friday night for ages 13 to 18 at SUNY Albany.
A full list of events can be found on the Capital Pride Web site .

I once sang karaoke at Waterworks and made the crowd smile. I imagine Tiffany will have them smiling too, but that's because she can actually sing. Not because she's the crying drunk girl singing "Unchained Melody" to her gay boyfriends. Don't judge me.
