A stately tune

After seeing today that Oklahoma is searching for a state song, we wondered what New York's state song is. The answer: "I Love New York." (No, not that one, it's this one.) With lines such as "New York is diff'rent' cause there's no place else/on earth quite like New York and that's why," maybe it's time NY starts looking for a new song, too.

I shouldn't giggle (yes I should), because the two state's I'm from have the songs, "Home on the Range" and "The Yellow Rose of Texas."

One obvious (well it is BIG), and the other, well vast plains with very few buffalo these days.

Is it sad that I know the American version of "God Save the Queen?" I just realized it watching these Olympics. And I learned it in 4th grade, and we sang it after the Pledge.

Hmmmmm... Now on to bigger and better things.

Go Texas!

I vote for "New York, New York" by Ryan Adams for the state song of New York.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
