Carrie Rodriguez

Carrie Rodriguez

That's her.

Austin-by-way-of-Brooklyn alt-country singer Carrie Rodriguez and her violin will be all over town today.

She'll be stopping by to appear with our friends on WEXT this afternoon at 2:30 during the five o'clock hour (a longer interview will air another day). And then tonight she's performing at the Linda Norris Auditorium. The show starts at 8 pm. Tickets are $18.

Have a listen at her MySpace page. Rodriguez has been drawing comparisons to Lucinda Williams (Williams is also a fan).

It might be a fun way to kick off the weekend a little early.

I'll go, and she doesn't have to do a thing except sit there.

um, yes. what Barold said.

Poor Carrie Rodriguez. I know what it's like to only be admired for your beauty. Like when I'm washing the car outside in my bikini while simultaneously licking an over-sized lollipop & letting the cool breeze flow through my long blond hair. I wish people wouldn't stop and stare at my perfectly toned thighs. I'm a person too you know.

I always pictured Pantaloons as a brunette

And bald. With a funny accent.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
