Steve Barnes reports that Mezzo, the cool little gourmet marketplace on Hamilton in Albany, has been sold to the owners of Cheesecake Machismo. We're fans of Deena, Mezzo's founder, and we wish the best for her. (Earlier AOA item about Cheesecake Machismo.)

Ha :( Deena is/was indeed a hard worker. Mezzo was one of my favorite place for years (and wheelchair friendly to boot), but the new hours made it impossible for many of us to enjoy its quiet patio on the weekend, or even grab an early evening snack during the week. So I guess that's what was going on...
