The new face of metal... is from Albany

Maria BrinkThis is pretty much your standard "local girl goes to the big city and finds fame as the lead singer of a metalcore band" story.

As the story goes, Maria Brink left Albany in 2004 looking to make it big in Los Angeles. She eventually got connected with a few other musicians and formed a metalcore band called In This Moment. In 2007, they released a successful first album that featured "an invigorating mixture of metal and hard rock" and opened for Ozzie Ozzy Osborne.

In This Moment is now back on tour, ready to release a second album next week. And Maria Brink (that's her on the right) is being touted as "the new face of metal."

It's Ozzy. Ozzie doesn't fit across the knuckles.

I clicked on the link that brought me to a giant picture of her and I was like "oh my god, no way" because I am wearing that SAME EXACT OUTFIT. See, I had a job interview today at Key Bank which explains the high heels. And the branch manager seemed really impressed with my spiky leg brace. So much so that he decided an interview wasn't necessary and had several security members escort me to my car. Probably because I'm so important.

The Scoop
