Typo
Spelling "Obama" as "Osama" on Rensselaer County absentee ballots is a pretty big mistake -- innocent or not. (Thanks, L!)

Horrible and ridiculous... and I completely agree with the person quoted at the end who mused whether her vote would be invalid if she wrote in the correct spelling.
Makes me glad I live in Albany County, where they only thing they spell funny is... well, every Dutch name in town.

Were the three people who proofed the ballots blind? How could THREE PEOPLE not notice such an egregious mistake? I would fire them. They need to be fired. They obviously don't know how to read or pay attention to detail. There are people in this country who think his name really is Osama and that he's a terrorist. How can ballots with "Barack Osama" even be legally accepted?

The paper forgot to mention the fact that the ballot also contained a typo for McCain. Instead of "John McCain", it read "John Mc DontVoteForThisGuyPleaseIBegYouForTheSakeOfOurChildrenDONT". I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on that one. Sometimes when I'm typing really fast, I make that same spelling error, and let me tell you, it's totally embarrassing.
