Swamp Baby- Littlefoot

I think all those bands will be on the compilation, but only the first few will be playing at Valentines on Thursday.

All of those bands plus a few more are on the compilation but I can confirm that all of those bands except for swamp baby are actually playing the show.
That seems like a lot of bands to play one show so let me clarify the situation.
Beware! and Desperately Obvious being made up off all the same people (mostly) will be playing a split singe set. Scientific Maps and the Hoborchestra are also both doing full sets. The rest of the bands (We are Jeneric, Littlefoot and Pinguinos) are all playing short sets in between the full sets.
It is going to be a most excellent show and we would like to thanks all over albany for being such good internet friends of ours.

I scared Swamp Baby when I asked if they were playing on Thursday. :) Thanks for the info! So many bands on a school night!

Alex/B3nson: I'm slow today, I can't find a contact email on your web page. Quick question: are you guys amateur-photographers friendly? I usually bring a Point&Shoot to concerts (say here and here), but I want to try shooting with a DSLR. Some venues/bands frown at bigger/professional cameras. You?

@S - We love amatuer-photographers and awesome photographs in general. Please feel free to come with whatever camera you would like, we would love to see the results when you are done.
Thanks for the heads up on no contact info over at b3nson.net, I will do something about that. In the mean time you can find my email address at myspace.com/thehobobanned if you have any other questions.

I have to say... it was an amazing, amazing event.
On everyone's part and on every level, even though I performed for a few minutes there, the rest of the Albany musicians and Albany crowd showed such an excitement about being there and being part of something special. I still can´t get over it.
Way to go. :)
PS. I'd also love to see some of the photos from the guy with the fancier camera than mine!

It was fun, I had seen Beware! before, and boy are they energetic! Some kids joined with their trumpets to add some "ooomph" to the climatic ending :) The solo acts provided some welcome relief (to the audience: "now I want you to touch another man's lips" => priceless).
I'd definitely show you the photos but they actually sucked. I'll check what I can salvage, and they will show up here. I was just trying this Canon and I didn't expect it too perform so well; I don't use flash for concerts, it was pretty dark and that lens was too slow (f3.5). I had to shoot at ISO1600, with an awful lot of noise. Lesson learned.
Keep rocking.

Barons in the Attic were awesome!

A quick summary of the results:
B3nson - 1
Albany - 0
I'd say it's still anyone's game... but I'd be a liar.

My son has the same chimey/xylaphonish thing that the musicianne is folding in the picture, and I've always admired the gentle music that comes out of that thing. Love to see it!

As I said: testing the cam, no flash, but feel free to use them!
