T-shirt spotting

question mark t-shirtAmanda emailed us a few weeks ago:

While at the party on November 4th, I spotted a young man wearing a t-shirt with a "no more guns in Albany" message. This shirt was black and on the back (which is all I saw of it) there was a large white gun with the skyline of Albany rising up off of it. There was some text to the effect of, 'no more guns' or something (memory fails me here...it was an exciting night). By the time I went looking for the man in the crowd, it was too packed.

Have any of you seen or heard of this design? It was really great, and I would love to know who designed it, or where I might find one.

We checked around a little bit and weren't able to find anything. Does anyone know where Amanda can score one of these T's?

You really should worry about the people who legally own a gun, wearing a tshirt and getting laws passed is really going to prevent the scum of Albany from getting one. Because they all do it the legal way in the first place.

Sounds like it could be the work of Arthur Cooks, who is selling those NY [hearts] ME tshirts locally. Maybe check those locations.

Could just as easily be a one-off by anyone using any of the many local and online tshirt printing services.

I saw the 'NY

Perhaps something that Charlie Muller at the Victory Church is offering? He is so instrumental in the gun buyback program, it wouldn't surprise me if he is making the shirts too for awareness.

Maybe it had something to do with the "More Rhymes, Less Crimes" program?

..meant to say- I saw the 'NY

@caffeine: Oh, so *that's* what you meant to say...

I am pretty sure it's Pastor Charlie. There is a roaming billboard vehicle I have see parked near his church on Quail and it has that logo.

It is the "Enough is Enough" Campaign, which is I believe Charlie's?

It sounds like Albany County DA David Soares' campaign. He gives out the t-shirts at neighborhood events and there are billboards with the same logo (skyline & target) up around town.

Thanks for posting this! And thanks to everyone for all the leads. AllOverAlbanyFan, I think you are right! The image on the website looks just like the one on the t-shirt. It makes sense now, since I did see the shirt at an election night party and Soares was there to celebrate his re-election. Thanks again!

Read a Metroland and you would know that it's a T-shirt given out by the Enough Program supported by David Soares.

@A: FYI, there is a ginormous billboard right here on Broadway advertising the ENOUGH Initiative. On your way back from Miss Albany Diner (hint hint).

Say Something!
