SNL's David Paterson skit

This week's SNL included a Weekend Update skit about David Paterson:

He's blind! Get it!

Um, right. The real David Paterson is usually funnier. But he wasn't laughing this time.

Comments

Perhaps Paterson wasn't laughing because it wasn't actually funny. Lets get real. With the exception of Tina-Fey-as-Sarah-Palin, SNL is one of the most overrated shows on tv. Their "comedy" is sad and awkward, and it always disappoints. It's like watching your grandpa pick up dates at a funeral. "Well hello there....miss!"

What I don't understand is why they've made Fred Armisen their go-to man for so many political impressions. I'm not feeling it. Aren't there other members of the cast that could try to take a swing at a character once in a while? With Amy Poehler's departure, will he be taking on Hillary as well?

I actually thought that the Patterson skit was pretty damn funny.

The whole skit was spot on.

If the Governor is a little put off by SNL's skit, perhaps he can wrap himself in one of his $20,000 rugs in place of his thin skin.

Oh come on.... I thought Gov. Patterson was pretty comfortable with his disability, I mean... he did make it to governor of New York and all. I thought the impression was spot on and funny as HELL. I don't however think that he was comically unprepared.

Still funny though....

The first skit with the Governor was way too long--it got old real quick. Him walking into Amy Poehler's farewell was a classic! The audience and the cast were losing it from beginning to end--very, very funny!

Sarah Palin being a cluless, ignorant redneck provided us with weeks of laughs. I'm pretty sure that being a moron is also a significant disability and a very tough way to go through life! I never heard any whining from the Palin camp!

Deep down, I'm sure Patterson (and definitely his staff) thought it was very, very funny!

This is it? This is what all the hupla was about?? Just another mediocre SNL script. I wonder if there will be new sale taxes on HIS extracurricular activities......winkwink.
