When asked by a writer for the FT about how he liked being a columnist for Slate, Eliot Spitzer responded, with a grin, last night: "It sucks. I used to be governor of New York." The last person in the US to be hired for a journalism job was at a Slate holiday party held in -- and we're not making this up -- a former "massage" parlor.
