New World on Delaware
The long-simmering off-the-record word that Ric Orlando is opening a restaurant in the space next to the Spectrum apparently became official today.

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Great news. 1) for the food, and 2) because that part of town needs to stem the tide of urban decay.

Good God I hope not. As a former regular of the one in Woodstock (and I mean since before it was actually in Saugarties and orginally on Sawkill-Zena Road), I have time and time again had terrible meals and horrible service there. Ric has not been at that place for years and then when he was, it wasn't in the kitchen where he was needed most! As much as I love my hometown of Woodstock, this is one thing I'm hoping doesn't follow me to Troybany.

I was so excited to hear about this! When I was working on my BA at New Paltz I was a vegetarian and New World was always a great place to take my family. The vegan-veg-omni options were always wide open, and we never had a bad meal. I don't think I could have considered myself a "regular," but the atmosphere and the blackened string beans did beckon us back on multiple occasions.

Woo-hoo!
Just what my neighborhood needs!
I LOVE New World's fish and Salads.
I trek to Saugteries a lot and it is always fun and delicious.
