Keeping warm with a 'stache

By Jessica Pasko

mustache hatIf we have to be freezing, then we might as well do it with style right?

I'm thinking that these mustache-adorned ski caps might be the perfect way to keep warm during the frigid temps we've been having.

I spotted Albany crafter Mary Elise Bolam's cool hats at the holiday craftstravaganza held last month by the Grand Street Community Arts folks and thought they were great. At least one friend of mine has been rocking hers lately. I'm kicking myself for not buying one, because they've sold out entirely on Mary Elise's Etsy site, The Rabbit Hole.

Fortunately, she says she'll be embroidering some more soon. And if you're really nice, I bet you might be able to get her to do a custom order. She does several varieties of 'staches, including the petite lumber jack and the Frenchmen. I think the handlebar mustache ones are my favorites.

Forget the hats, those glasses are stylin'! Where'd you get them?

I first started wearing vintage glasses when I happened upon a pair of my great grandmother's in a dresser drawer, however the one's I'm wearing in the picture are a pair I picked up at the Madison Bouckville Antique Fair.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Don't give up. Our paperwork was denied, and we contested their findings. We took detailed photos of the properties the city used as comps explaining why they were worth more than our house, and found truly relevant comps. Eventually a mediator (judge?) sat in a small conference room with us and we won. See? you can fight City Hall.
