If this keeps up, Panda might need an agent

guide horse on RRAnn Edie, the Guilderland woman who uses a miniature horse -- named Panda -- as a guide animal, was on Rachael Ray's talk show yesterday (video).

The segment shows Edie and Panda walking around their neighborhood, strolling through Crossgates and playing fetch. Edie says in the segment that sometimes people think Panda is just a big dog.

Edie and Panda were recently featured in a NYT Mag story about assistance animals.

We saw a guide-horse-in-training this past summer on Broadway in Saratoga.

(Thanks, Jess)

Panda is so cute that it makes me a little sad that I don't need a mini guide horse.

Imagine being the person at a party who says "Oh, I train mini horses for a living. You know, to help the blind". How could anyone possibly follow up that level of awesomeness? I don't know about you, but, I'd feel pressure to lie. Like, "Oh, that sounds interesting. Yeah, I train unicorns. You know, to rescue homeless people."

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
