Albany Community Television

albany ctvElise Van Allen, a local real estate agent and community activist, has launched a site called Albany Community Television.

The idea is pretty straightforward: record public meetings in Albany and post them on the web. The goal is to make it easier for people to see what city government is up to. (Here's some backstory.)

The site's a little spare right now. There are two videos of recent meetings posted, along with a little bit of accompanying info. We've heard from Elise that she'd like to eventually include logs of the meetings in order to make it easier to jump in and out of the video. She also told us that she has video from a bunch of other meetings -- it just hasn't been posted, yet.

Elise is looking for other people who might be interested in helping out with the project. Here's the Facebook page for Albany Community Television -- and her email is: elisevanallen |at| gmail |dot| com

Go, Elise! With the secretive nature of meetings/legislation around here, this is a definite plus! W00t!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
