She's a talker

Kirsten GillibrandNYT wrote a whole story about how Kirsten Gillibrand never stops talking. One person at an event said she was told by staffers to interrupt KG:

"They said, 'She's great, but she's a talker, so we're going to give you a sign if she's getting out of control,' " Ms. Gil recalled.

Sure enough, Ms. Gil said, during the meeting Ms. Gillibrand's aides quietly passed a handwritten note to the principal asking her to interrupt their boss and move on to the next question. Twice.

Our new senator also apparently likes to inflict interminable vacation slide shows on people.

In KG's defense, she does tend to give detailed explanations of her policy positions. You can't say that about all politicians -- even if they never shut up.

IN the TU story someone called Senator Corning is a "wonk". Anybody care to tell this oldtimer what a "wonk" is. I though that was the sound made when Pluto hit Popeye on the head.

@hrgreen: wonk = policy nerd

As any right-thinking person can observe, the patent diagram of 1891 clearly establishes that the correct implementation of the toilet paper roll is to present the sheets "over and facing out."
Deluded followers of the "under and in" heresy should finally conceded to the judgment of history and wrap it up.
