Demetri Martin at The Egg

demetri martinDemtri Martin -- noted person, comedian and palindromist -- will be at The Egg April 17. Tickets are $35.

Martin's got this understated, kind of nerdy style of humor that involves charts, music and wordplay. Here's a whole bunch of his stuff on YouTube. He's been a contributor on the Daily Show and he recently started his own show on Comedy Central.

I just found out about this today from LiveNation. There's no mention of it on The Eggs homepage. I would have never found it unless I check each event and I check The Egg site a lot. Can't wait for this show...he's so funny. Dane Cook is also coming, but he rips all his stuff off from Demtri Martin. I can't wait!

I have never found Demetri Martin funny. For some reason, his childlike slacker shtick becomes even more annoying when you learn that he's 36 and went to law school.

this guys new tv show totally sucks, but his role in FoTC is great... so who knows how this is? Anyone?

I love his show and all, but $35? He hasn't been around that long, I didn't think he could command that much.

Yeah, I just don't get it.

@Ellsass: Yeah, I thought the price was a little steep, too.

demetri martin is great! i think his show on comedy central is really clever and fun. sadly, i won't be able to make it to the egg that night. i bet his performance will be worth the money.

Demetri Martin is a talentless hack. I know one show I won't be seeing.

The last time [first time?] he came to the Egg, the ticket price was reduced significantly a couple weeks prior...

Everyone has been going ape over this guy lately. My husband and I watched a couple of his shows and didn't think he was that funny...hmm.
On the flip side, everyone has been Dane Cook-bashing lately and I don't get that either. I love the guy. He genuinely makes me laugh. That's a show I'm going to see.

did everyone take their insane pill this morning? this guy is funny.....and important, hes and important person. i will happily be there. i like dry. i like smart, quirky humor. i like comedians that dont have to put on huge acts to be funny. his content is whats funny.

if i was not going to be at the opening night of the onedotzero festival at EMPAC ( http://empac.rpi.edu/events/2009/spring/onedotzero/ ), i would definitely check this out - that demetri is funny as all get-out, even with all the comic book loserdom jokes (perhaps they hit too close to home).

and yes, that was a shameless plug.
