What's up in the Neighborhood
Among the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: architecture, grade school speakeasies, foodie relationships, Wegmans, pork belly and killer showers.
More criticism of the design for the Saratoga City Center's expansion, this time from His Crankiness at i-Saratoga: "the new design basically flouts any concept of local architecture, leaving some observers to wonder whether the authority a relied on the same uber-designers that officials from the state Office of Parks and Recreation and Historical Preservation hired to design the 'IHOP in park' last year."
The fact that Rob's son's class had a Roaring Twenties party didn't seem to go over well with with some people. (That guy is going to love it when the class has Woodstock day.)
Steve asks if this foodie/non-foodie relationship can be saved. (And Steve says he had a "lovely" dinner at Franklin's Tower.)
Kristi is a fan of Wegmans.
Lydia Kulbida smells like caramelized onions.
Mr. Dave found "shelves and shelves" of pork belly at the Asian market on Colvin.
And Celina remembers standing "outside the door to QE2, shivering and wishing for a fake ID, but never getting in. QE2, the center of everything."

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Look, Pantaloons—you’re back on the Twitter list! Note to self: if you make AOA feel guilty, then they’ll do things for you.
On an entirely unrelated topic, I’m still pretty bummed about missing out on those birthday cupcakes. I’ll probably be sad until a replacement cupcake is sent to my office.

You really think I was trying to guilt trip them? Wow. The truth is a lot sadder than that. I have such little aspiration & goals right now in my life that making the twitter cut actually feels like a small accomplishment.

Hey, don't underestimate the power of a good guilt trip. That's how I got that hooker to refund my money AND become my sugar-momma.
