The 20th is tied
Or just about as close as you can get to a tie. According to the AP, Scott Murphy leads Jim Tedisco by just 59 votes. WNYT has a county-by-county breakdown. The TU reports there are about 6000 absentee votes still to be counted -- but as the Post-Star reports, the counting can't start until Monday. Yep, this is going to go on for awhile. But, hey, bright side: no more attack ads.

There is little doubt that we must all recognize that in today's world our votes really do matter. I believe I saw last night that only 30% turned out to vote in NY20...shameful really. Yeah, the campaign was a mudslinging travesty, but I know I'd feel awful if I hadn't voted and the it came down to such a close finish.

I'm really hoping this doesn't end up being another Franken-Coleman debacle. The last thing we need to be hearing about for the next six months is lawsuits over the validity of individual ballots.

I predict we are about to hear just how horrible/inaccurate the lever type voting machines are....
