College food fact of the day: 25,000 pounds of grass-fed beef was purchased for UAlbany's dining centers this year. There's also an effort underway to get 70 percent of the food served at UAlbany from regional producers.

But seriously, this reflects a few year trend of increasingly serious Green/Sustainability initiatives that the school and Chartwells have embarked on. I really appreciate, especially with the economy in the toilet, that they continue to do more.
