Baby gifts at Clearly Yours

Baby blankets from Clearly Yours.

By Amy Brozio-Andrews

I don't think I've ever been to a baby shower where I haven't given the same gift someone else is giving.

Which is why I was immediately ready to stock up for the half-dozen moms-to-be I know when I saw these adorable ribbon-adorned baby bodysuits, blankets, and burp cloths at Clearly Yours in Latham.

Made by Top It Off Accessories, these are all 100% cotton and soooo soft -- I could have curled up with one of those blankets and taken a nap right there.

All of the items come in white. The color is in the ribbons.

The ribbon choices are tasteful and there are clear boy, girl, and unisex choices, from preppy stripes to cute little puppies, hand prints, daisies, polka dots, sailboats, and more. These aren't glued-on ribbons, they're sewn on so they're not going anywhere, and everything is machine washable.

The prices are a little on the high side (short sleeve bodysuits are $18, burp cloths are $15, and blankets are $30) but everything there can be monogrammed for free, so you can add the baby's name or some other cute phrase or nickname for a more personal gift, the kind I'd keep in my kid's memory box instead of passing on to a friend with the rest of the baby clothes.

Clearly Yours closes at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays so their Saturday hours might be your best bet for browsing.

Having a child is indeed a second shot or at least a reminder of the magic of childhood. I thought of this yesterday and my 4 year old and myself rode figure 8's and generally raced all around the now empty parking lots of Sage, Albany College of Pharmacy and OPWDD on our BMX bikes. So many childhood 'far away' journeys are actually so close.
