There are bound to be lots of people wandering the Collar City tonight for Troy Night Out. The weather's perfect for a stroll, the shops and galleries are open late-- and then there's the Official Unofficial After Party at Revolution Hall. The Jerks (Back from Japan + Jenks) will be there with McGuillicuddy and other surprises.

Poetry at UAG
The Yes, Reading! folks and Film Forum Press have teamed up to host a reading tonight at UAG on Lark Street. Featured poets Joshua Harmon and Andrew Zawacki will read their own work. Free.

Japanese puppet theater at EMPAC*
Master puppeteer Basil Twist is staging Dougugaeshi -- 17th Century Japanese puppetry with a modern twist. The production combines puppets, paper screens and video projection with live music. Tonight at 8, Saturday at 4 & 8, Sunday at 2 at EMPAC. $5 to $15.

Be Spontaneous
Help Mop and Bucket Company make up a Broadway show on the spot. MopCo. is hosting another weekend of improvisational comedy with their Spontaneous Broadway show Upstairs at 440 at Proctors this weekend. Audience members throw at suggestions and the MopCo. cast turns them into a Broadway Show. Tonight and Saturday at 8. Sunday afternoon at 2. $15

Stickball!
There's another stickball tournement in Troy's Little Italy Neighborhood this weekened. 14 teams will play each other between Saturday and Sunday to benefit the Rensselaer County food pantries. The tournament is in the Little Italy Marketplace .

Earth Day
Celebrate Earth Day (OK a little late) by volunteering with The Albany Pine Bush Preserve. The folks at the preserve are is celebrating Earth Day are holding activities and conservation projects for kids and families on Saturday morning. Activities get underway at 9 . It's free but registration is required. And come dressed to work outdoors.

Bio Blitz
Experts will host guided walks and science observation events at Veteran's Memorial Park in Clifton Park this weekend as part of the town's first Bio Blitz. It's kind of a festival of nature and science. And it's free. Just be sure you're dressed for outdoor events.

See a show
The New York State Theater Institute presents "The Philadelphia Story" this weekend. This fun little romantic comedy was written specifically for Katherine Hepburn and has spawned a few classic film versions. It's the story of the society wedding of Tracy Lord and 3 potential grooms. $20, $16 for seniors and students, $10 for kids 12 and under.

Also it's opening weekend for David Mamet's Boston Marriage at Capital Rep. Mamet uses quick, witty dialogue to examine the intimate relationship between two Victorian era women.

Come Dancin'
The Crooked Lake House is hosting another Ballroom, Swing and Latin Dance Party. It gets going tonight at 7:15 with a free lesson. Then for $10 you can dance the rest of the night.

If you still got some dancing left in you, The Saratoga Savoy Center of Dance is hosting its monthly Milonga/Tango Party tomorrow night from 8-11. $10.

Drive to Paris
OK, not quite. The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown is closing one show about Paris, and opening another. This weekend you can see them both. Closing: Toulouse Lautrec and Paris. Opening: Second Empire Paris: History and Modernity. The new exhibit uses photos and prints to show how old world Paris transformed into the romantic city we know. If you can't make it this weekend, this one will be open through June 21st.

"Television History "
The Smother's Brothers have been performing together for over 50 years, but they're best known for the part they played in television history back in the 1960's. Sunday night Tom and Dick bring their music and comedy to The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.

Dining Al Fresco
It's a little early in the upstate season, but we've noticed that some of the local patios are already open. And the weather should be ideal for eating outdoors. You may want to call just to be sure the patio of your choice is ready for spring.

Don't forget about TAP NY at Hunter Mountain, tomorrow and Sunday. All of NYS' best breweries, at one place, for one price! Also, can't beat the scenery on a beautiful day.

My dad's gunna be super excited when he sees the Smothers Brothers are in town. They're on his comedy short list along with Garrison Keillor, Ernie Kovac & The Marx Brothers. But keep in mind, my dad is 350 years old.

Fish and Wildlife Festival @ SUNY Cobleskill

The 14th Annual Fish & Wildlife Festival will be held Saturday April 25th (tomorow) at the SUNY Cobleskill Ski Lodge from 10am-4pm. Activities include a youth fishing derby (poles and bait provided), petting zoo, many live animal exhibits, calling contents, woodsman’s demonstration, chicken BBQ, fish fry, photography contest and more. Bring your friends and family. ADMISSION IS FREE!!

In addition to the Fish & Wildlife Festival at SUNY Cobleskill, Spring Fling is also set for Saturday, April 25 on the main campus. There will be family friendly activities including inflatables, criss-cross collision course, crafts, a petting zoo, farm tours and carnival games from 12 to 4 p.m. Cobleskill Auxiliary Services Inc. will provide all-you-can-eat carnival food favorites until 3 p.m. including chicken spiedies, sausage with peppers and onions and turkey legs; cost for adults is $9, children ages 4 to 12 is $4.75, children 3 and under are free.

If you're a book lover, stop by Market Block Books in Troy on Saturday the 25th for a book signing. Eve Pell will be signing copies of her book, We Used to Own the Bronx: Memoirs of a Former Debutant. The book is from Excelsior Editions, which is the trade imprint of Albany-based publisher SUNY Press.
