About all the traffic Thursday evening
"I "live" on Long Island but I've been going to school for 4 years and working summers here for 2 years and I can attest to what people calling traffic here is what I consider a few people on the road. I can remember times being on Troy Schnectady road and my friends from up here moaning about the traffic, and me thinking this was about as light as any of our roads get.
NYC is far worse than even that...if you want to never hate traffic up here again, just go on the Cross Bronx during rush hour and you will appreciate Albany area traffic."

About the threat of pandemic flu
"Gov. Paterson says we shouldn't panic about Swine Flu.
Really?
I'm already dividing up my friends/co-workers into:
A) Has needed skills to rebuild civilization.
B) Has cajones to seal the Vault door when we reach capacity.
C) Has sneezed in my presence in the past 24 hours."

About increasing safety in the student ghetto
"Here's how to make the student ghetto safer:
1. Teach the students and residents not to act like idiots: walk in pairs at night, take self-defense classes, and don't walk alone, drunk, high and talking to your bro on your cell phone at top volume on dark streets.
2. Train the cops to actually patrol and treat all residents with respect, rather than just putting up enormous signs stating their presence and acting like maintaining peaceful neighborhoods is too much of a strain for them.
3. Hold landlords accountable for repairing their tenement-quality housing, thereby increasing the safety of student housing.
There. That should do it. I'll be expecting my $95,000 check from Saint Rose and U. Albany."

About the Betty Barnette's fixed parking ticket nondisclosure excuse
"I gotta give Betty Barnette respect for the HIPPA excuse. Dang, that's creative. I wish I had her legal sounding jargon. Usually when I don't want to reveal something I just pretend to ¿no comprede? because I no speaka da englay. And if that doesn't work, I make intricate hand gestures as a way to fool people into thinking I'm deaf. Maybe she would have had better luck with that strategy."

About parents and kids and music
"It's funny that Rob brought his son to the Decemberists @ Amherst. I played a similar/opposite role, because I brought my Dad to the same show!"

About the decaying Thacher Park pool
"Hopefully the pool can be reevaluated when the state can loosen it's belt a little...fingers crossed that's before 2022."

About politicians borrowing others' words
"I'm starting work on a re-imagining of "Cyrano de Bergerac" where David Paterson hides in a nearby bush and whispers statements for Jerry Jennings to write in his blog."

About bad PR stunts
"We have an arena football team? Seriously?"

Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
