My Exit: Bobby Z

Fleetwood Mac Cover.jpgEvery Monday night our friends at WEXT do this thing called My Exit -- local listeners get to come into the station and program an hour of music. So we thought it'd be fun to find out a little bit about these people and why they picked the songs on their play list.

Here's tonight's person:

Who:

Robert Henry Bordier (but call him Bobby "Z") with his son Nick Bordier.

Musical Taste:

Mainly folk and what they now refer to as classic rock. Stuff you don't hear on commercial radio.

Three Songs from Bobby Z's show:

Tom Rush -- Hot Tonight -- Tom is one of the finest singer/songwriters around. This is his first release of new material in 30 years. I've just always liked his style.

Fleetwood Mac (pre Stevie Nix because, in my opinion, they were much better before she came along) -- Hypnotized -- This song is one of the many that describe my hazy youth.

The Monkees -- Goin' Down -- We threw in some Monkees because, hey, why not. Goin' Down is the first rap song ever recorded. (grin)

You can hear Bobby and Nick's My Exit show tonight at 8 at 97.7 or at exit977.org. Here's how to schedule your own My Exit show on WEXT.

WOW, GIVE THESE GUYS A WEEKLY. THEY DUSTED OFF SOME STUFF I HAVEN'T HEARD IN YEARS! AND BLENDED IT NICELY WITH RECENT THINGS, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE,.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
