Delta Spirit tonight

Delta Spirit

Delta Spirit

Here's something to make your Wednesday jealous of your Tuesday: Delta Spirit is playing tonight at Valentine's.

NPR's World Cafe describes the band out of San Diego as "somewhere between indie-rock and alt-country, with a foundation built on battle-cry vocals and unconventional instrumentation, even including trash-can lids." We'd just say they sound summery.

Here's a Take Away show they shot in San Francisco earlier this year.

Also on tonight's slate: AOA faves Sgt Dunbar and the Hobo Banned.

Doors are 8 pm. Tickets are $10.

I just saw these guys Monday night at Terminal 5 in NYC when they opened for The Shins and they were excellent. They reminded me a lot of a local group, The Felice Brothers. If you have a chance you should really check them out.

Booo...Valentine's website says its been cancelled! Just when i was excited to finally have GOOD live music in town :(

@Emma: I just called to double check -- it was still on. You might have been seeing the note from back in February when DS was supposed to play, but had to cancel.

Tonight's show is on.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
