What's up in the Neighborhood
Among the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: same-sex marriage, The Tuna, maturity, tramps, inspiration, employment, dumplings, vintage beer and competitive eating.
Matt on same-sex marriage: "As a citizen, it doesn't seem right that I should even have to ask permission for the right to marry someone I love."
His Crankiness at i-Saratoga has a Saratoga Springs mayoral candidate suggestion: Bill Parcells.
Leigh tells the story of how she and an old classmate found maturity at a rough-and-tumble bar.
Just so you know, Kristi prefers the word "tramp."
Daniel got inspired at the co-op.
Steve shared thoughts from Chez Sophie's owners about how NOT to get a job at a restaurant.
Another good report about the Wine Bar in Saratoga, this time from Fun in Saratoga.
Albany Jane made dumplings with mushrooms from the Asian market on Colvin.
One of Naomi's readers told the story of a vintage six-pack found in a Sage library.
And KiMelodic found something odd at the ESP.
Tweets of the week
From @tenacioustij: "i didnt lose a tooth! It turns out a piece of calculus fell off the tooth, which is odd cause i definitely failed Calculus twice...."
From @MeghanButler: "Just received a $1,073,100 bill frm my Dr. for an allergy test. I think something is off. Or I had the 1st ever sinus transplant."
From @remarceissac: "Underwear...a necessity when wearing a short flowy skirt on a windy day. No one wanted to see where your 3 kids came from. Kthanx."
From @Mrs_Misanthrope: "Only 1 college in the area offers the masters program I want to take. God, you'd think competitive eating would be a more popular subject."

You Trader Joe's people are worse than Scientologists. If you start a kiosk in the mall and ask if I want a free stress test, I swear I'll dump a million gallons of Two Buck Chuck in the river.

HerbieLo, did you read my post? I have no undying loyalty to the co-op. There is a lot about them I actively dislike.
They did however put on a good event, and the film was inspiring. I am looking forward to the next one.
I want a Trader Joe's too. My sister left Boston last year, and since then I am no longer making the quarterly trips to Cambridge to stock up on wine and foodstuffs.
My personal belief is that the empty bookstore across from the Colonie center would make the ideal location. Good luck on your efforts to bring them here.
And I will also help B dump as much Two Buck Chuck in the river as he likes. That stuff is worth $2 to be sure. But I'd much rather get the 500% jump in quality by going up to the $5 wines.

HerbieLo, I thought the party line of all you Trader Joe fanatics was that the Capital District could support TJ and the Honest Weight and, what the heck, let's bring in a Whole Foods, too. Now you want to run the coop out of business? What's your problem?
