My Exit: Mark Walnicki
Every Monday night our friends at WEXT do this thing called My Exit -- local listeners get to come into the station and program an hour of music. So we thought it'd be fun to find out a little bit about these people and why they picked the songs on their play list.
Here's tonight's person:
Who:
Mark Walnicki from Glenmont.
Musical Taste:
I listen to just about anything, just depends on my mood. As Peter Schickele, on his show "Shickele Mix", used to quote Duke Ellington : "If it sounds good, it IS good."
If there were one artist I absolutely could not live without, it would be David Byrne, and I will never lose my love of punk.
Three songs from Mark's show:
The Alarm - Sold Me Down The River - A great song to crank up and sing along with while cruising in the car. And any song that has a woo-hoo! in it or something similar is always a winner in my book!
Talking Heads - Once in a Lifetime -This song says so much, on so many levels, it's like a window looking into the inner workings of the universe.
R.E.M. - Nightswimming - Quite simply a beautifully crafted song. How can one not wax nostalgic after hearing it?
You can hear Mark's My Exit show tonight at 8 at 97.7 or at exit977.org. Here's how to schedule your own My Exit show on WEXT.
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
