Brought down by the Blackberry
The Buffalo News' Tom Precious reported today that Tom Golisano decided to support the overthrow in the Senate after Malcolm Smith wouldn't stop checking his Blackberry during a meeting with the billionaire. Unbelievable? Liz Benjamin asked Golisano about it today -- and he confirmed that he was "miffed" by Smith's incessant 'berrying.

Why does an UNELECTED citizen get to tamper with the legislative process?

Golisano has just aided in NYS looking even more like we a bunch on incompetent idiots. While I cannot fault him for all the philanthropic work that he does, does he not realize that this change takes away for important issues...including those that he is fighting for. Or maybe it doesn't because he has money and can buy his way to the top of the pile.

Okay, so I may want to smack friends when they use their blackberry during dinners out. That doesn't mean I would actually do it. Nor would I support a Republican coup for one meeting with a blackberry. Maybe Smith had important stuff going on. Or maybe twitter was just more interesting.

It is pretty annoying when people are so distracted. I HATE having a conversation with someone how is texting/iphoning/blackberrying/etc. at the same time. I see his point....focus people your toys can wait 5 minutes or even 30 minutes...your response in NOT that important.
but
I thought he was moving to Florida.!.?$

Fantastic.
At least it wasn't for a stupid reason.
This whole fiasco makes the BFF thing sound incredibly intelligent.
