Green wash and fold

We're happy doing our own laundry, but if you're laundry-averse this might be worth checking out: Albany EcoMaids is offering a year of its "VIP Laundry Club" for $10.55/week. That's 25-30 lbs of laundry (done using "environmentally-preferrable" products), turned around in 24 hours, with free pick-up and delivery each week. If you just want to try it out, they're offering a free trial (for up to 15 lbs) this month.

Somebody do some math and tell me how this compares to Ye Olde Laundromat. I'm too distracted to think.

According to the site there is a $10 svc charge normally, then .80c a lb after that. It costs me 15 to wash and dry my own laundry at the Madison Ave laundromat. (Just did laundry yesterday, haha).

@aj: I think those are the normal prices. This is a special that they're offering. I can't find anything about the special on their site though...

OMG, for a family of 4 that's cheaper than I can do it!

Summer is right- we are offering a substantial discount to the first 50 people who join. Sorry more info isn't up on the site yet- our webmaster is on vacation. If you email or call us we can send you more information. Regular price is $10 plus .80/lb, or $25 for a flat rate bag. VIPs get 24 hr turnaround and reduced weight charge on any extra laundry. We also offer group workplace discounts and college student laundry plans.

That would be an awesome father's day present!

It really is a great deal, and it's worth an extra few dollars to have the convenience of not having to worry about it (a problem in my household). The only toughie is coming up with an entire year up front (required for the VIP club).

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
