Where to see fireworks this weekend
With the 4th of July on a Saturday this year, there are fireworks displays all weekend long.
Provided they don't get washed out, here's where you can see them.

Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

A good thing to remember- you don't have to go right to where they're being launched from to get a good show. I've watched the Plaza fireworks from the lawn of Hackett and from Lincoln Park in past years, to avoid the crowds and traffic.

I watch the ESP fireworks from the little dog park at Jay and Hudson Streets. The Swan Street building blocks some of the lower fireworks, but it's worth it to laugh at the bottleneck traffic as I walk across the street to my house when it's over. Besides, I can sit on a lawn chair with no crowd.

Once I was driving down Delaware Ave (toward the Plaza) and had a great view of the fireworks. I think that whole corridor might have a good view.

@chrisck: We watched some of last year's display from the sidewalk near Emack and Bolio's. The view was obstructed, but:
- there were no crowds
- and we had ice cream

Now that I no longer live there, I can share my favorite spot to watch the ESP fireworks: the walkway in Washington Park by Willett and Hudson. It's a titch obstructed, but the people gathering there have always been good in my experience, and the ability to beat the traffic out is a big perk. Grab some take-out and have a picnic, and you've got yourself one good Fourth of July.

I watched Renssaler, Troy, and ALbany's fireworks from the East Greenbush walmart. That hill they have is great and you can pick up snacks and even a blanket if you forgot one.

The Brooklyn Bridge. Oops, that's not local, but that's where this local girl will be. :)

Hackett Blvd. is a great place to see them and also the track at the College of Pharmacy. Lots of families etc. with blankets.
I have also watched them from the top level of the AMC parking garage.

Lincoln Park by the Stewart's on Morton Ave. Best fireworks spot around and ice cream too!

The train station in Rensselaer... just me and the old folks with our lawn chairs, no traffic and potties, if my pre-schooler needs one!
