The ESP is smokin'!

smokin ESP

Duuuude.

This is the kind of story you just can't make up. From a press release from the state Inspector General's office:

A state janitor was arrested and his boss suspended this week amid allegations that they created a hidden party lounge at an Empire State Plaza garage to sell drugs, smoke pot and sleep for hours during work shifts.

This hidden lounge allegedly contained "couches, TV and scales to weigh marijuana." The press release actually uses the term "man cave."

The janitor is also accused of using his Office of General Services truck to make pot deliveries to other state workers during his shifts. Both he and his supervisor have been suspended without pay.

(Thanks, CB!)

These guys are going to give sleeping at work a bad name.

Haha, that sounds just like something I did in high school.

I mean, those bastards!

I thought this was fabricated when I first read it, but it's apparently true. Now I know that if I ever take a NYS civil service employees test, I should study by watching "Scarface" and "Pineapple Express" over and over again.

I love that they refer to it in the press release as the "man-cave"

If Nelson Rockefeller built the Empire State Plaza, wouldn't it make sense for someone to violate the Rockefeller Drug Laws in his own edifice?

love the rehab ad on the same page as this story...

Uh, shouldn't they be in jail without pay?

Why do I always find out about these things AFTER the fact! I could have used the couches rather than the floor under my desk & yoga mat for naps. Damn!!

This explains why the Senate hasn't been able to get anything done!

This explains why my garbage can only gets emptied twice a week. (and why my Fritos keep disappearing.) Should we assume these clowns count toward the Lt. Gov's workforce reduction numbers?

Photos, please. Come on, Sebastien, B, get on it!

Thinking about having a truckload of T shirts printed up "Take Me To The Man Cave!!! ". Sell them on the Plaza. Retirement loot.

Say Something!

Having a child is indeed a second shot or at least a reminder of the magic of childhood. I thought of this yesterday and my 4 year old and myself rode figure 8's and generally raced all around the now empty parking lots of Sage, Albany College of Pharmacy and OPWDD on our BMX bikes. So many childhood 'far away' journeys are actually so close.
