My Exit: Scott Langer

Scott Langer 1990.jpg

Scott , circa 1990.

Every Monday night our friends at WEXT do this thing called My Exit -- local listeners get to come into the station and program an hour of music. So we thought it'd be fun to find out a little bit about these people and why they picked the songs on their play list.

Here's tonight's person:

Who?
Scott Langer from Troy.

How would you describe your musical style?
I enjoy all types of music aside from show tunes and most trendy pop.

A few songs from Scott's show:

"Roads" -- Portishead - This song is just so beautiful and mysterious. I love relaxing or taking a nap listening to Portishead.

"Wheelz of Steel" -- Outkast - Off the "ATLiens" album, this song was played to me before I even knew who Outkast was, back in the day by a high school friend. Ever since then, they have consistently been one of my favorite hip hop groups.

"You Were the Last High" by the Dandy Warhols - This band is so fun and great for any occasion, this is one of my favorite Dandy's tunes.

You can hear Scott's My Exit show tonight at 8 at 97.7 or at exit977.org. Here's how to schedule your own My Exit show on WEXT.

A bit of a tangential topic, but....

If his pic isn't up there, it should be.

If that picture doesn't say "A playa in the making", I don't know what does. Nice work, Scott!

Fantastic photo.
Clearly, Scott was a good buddy of Jake.

And by Jake I mean Stephen. Lasers. They will fry your brain.

Oh, Scotty. Also, Pandora decided to play "The Last High" as this was posted. Coincidence? I think not. It's no "Bohemian Like You", though, and I only mention this because I'm trying to work this song into conversation every day for at least a week.

Scott "McLovin" Langer.

OK I'll stop now.

It's cold in the future... don't forget your turtleneck.

It almost makes one want to move to the Capital Area!

We knew he could do it!, or at least I knew he could and would do it; being a successful entertainer, that is!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
