Metroland reports that it has been served with the $65 million lawsuit filed by NXIVM. The suit was originally filed back in March -- in Niagara County -- much to the surprise of the alt weekly. (What's NXIVM? It's an "executive success program," based in Clifton Park, that's drawn criticism for some of its training techniques.)

careful AOA, you could be next!

Metroland should just go to sleep next to one of the pods. When it wakes up, everything will be fine.

how do you know when something is a cult?

When someone feels they have tell you "it's not a cult."

NXIVM seems to be following the Scientology model "if your published view of our organization is not in line with ours we'll sue you."

NXIVM probably just wants to get a copy of the Metroland's adult services inserts... you know, the ones that if you're offended by the content, that you at least properly recycle them.

Bad publicity is still good publicity.

Hmmm...if these NXIVM folks are so dynamic and persuasive couldn't they just work some Svengali magic and ask Metroland for the $65 million?
