Tanking up
Based on Chuck's experience, it seems that sharing your AdvantEdge card with strangers in an attempt to rack up gas discount points is frowned upon.

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

Keep in mind that when you sign up for an Advantage Card, the form you sign says you are not allowed to share your card. It shouldn't really come as a surprise that they eventually decided to crack down.

Too damn funny! Leave it to Price Chopper to create its own bad PR for an otherwise successful campaign.
I guess if you already shop at the Chopper, you might as well get the discount. But if you currently shop at the more reasonably priced stores, its not such a great bargain.
Every $50 gets you 10 cents off per gallon. If you have a big vehicle (20 gallon tank), that might get you as much as $2.00 in savings off for each $50 purchase (if you get the tank reeeeally empty). Don't forget it resets every time you use it.
I'm not one to throw away $2, but the prices at the Chopper are high enough that you could save more than $2 by shopping Hannaford or Save-a-lot for the same $50 in items. I think AOA has already shown this in their comparison shopping.
