What's up in the Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodAmong the topics in this most recent spin around the Capital Region's online neighborhood: music, the beach, picking horses, a fake dog, sidewalk flowers, heartbreak over cheesesteak, salmon, a sandwich, and a pool party.

Leah and her kids had some fun thanks to the Music Mobile.

Bandit went to the beach at Grafton Lakes.

It might be time for Melissa's mom to quit her day job and start playing the horses full time.

Naomi helped find a new home for a fake dog.

Jackie went looking for flowers -- in the cracks of Saratoga's sidewalks.

The Exile spotted quite the weird plant.

Fun in Saratoga Dan is a little broken up about the closing of Liberty Bell Cheesesteaks.

Daniel B queried the Red Barn about its salmon.

Albany Jane had kalbi gui at Arirang and it was "absolutely worth" the $11.99.

Steve made a yummy-looking sandwich with ingredients from downtown Troy. (It would probably qualify as "local" food.)

Matt has some small business advice.

Kristi spotted a sushi deal in Guilderland.

And It looks like Sara had a great day at the Victoria Pool.

Tweet of the week

From @techcommdood: "Age-revealing moment: For years have only seen the neighbor's kid, mowing the lawn. Found out he's the neighbor, a medical resident. #iamold"

There's a lot more going on around the Neighborhood, check it out. If you know of another great local blog we should include -- or person to follow on Twitter -- post a comment or send us an email: editors |at| alloveralbany |dot| com.

Bandit will also be at tomorrow's cookout, too. He'll be the one wearing the Dog Snuggie and "Squirrel Patrol" name tag.

Finding a home for Arielle's "fake dog" has been one of my favorite blogging experiences so far.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
