Slamming the state budget gap
With New York State facing another midyear budget gap, Jimmy Vielkind reports that a Bronx assemblyman is floating the idea that mixed martial arts bouts could generate new tax revenue for the state.
MMA is currently banned in New York, but there have been recent efforts to legalize it. One of the biggest opponents of allowing the bouts is Colonie assemblyman Bob Reilly -- which hasn't made him popular with the octagon crowd.
