Tamara Flanders.jpgUpdate: the class has been canceled. We heard from Tamara that she's broken her wrist.

Tamara Flanders has one of her "I have a bike, now what" classes coming up this Saturday. She says the class will cover:

  • Helmet and bike fit
  • Clothing and accessory basics

  • Riding skills

The class is at the YWCA in Schenectady from 11 am - 2 pm. Participants should be 14 and up -- and bring their own bike, helmet, water, and a snack.

$20? Albany Bicycle Coalition, are you getting this?

Hi everyone,
Sadly I have to postpone this class. I'm sure it will be funny to me later that I have to cancel due to an injury from a cyclyng crash. I was bikejoring with my happy black lab and we had a crash. He's just fine, and I have a broken wrist.
I'll be offering this class again in the spring, but feel free to check out other wellness classes
i'm teaching through my website at www.yourbodyawake.com

Tammy - Sorry, and get well soon.

The City should take a more proactive approach based on neighborhood consensus. A prescriptive design guideline with great clarity could save lots of graves for aspiring developers and other stakeholders. The City has to be clear upfront on conditions to be met such as overall allowed building volume, easy river connection, parking, pedestrian oriented ground floor usage and etc. It not seems reasonable to expect commercial developers to build something on their own initiative to both maximize ROI and please all city residents.
