Latham Chipotle scheduled for November open

chipotle wilton

The Wilton location opened in April.

The long-developing Chipotle in Latham is tentatively scheduled to open November 6, according to company spokesman Chris Arnold. He says the date "could still change a bit."

The restaurant will be located at the intersection of Route 7 and Wade Rd.

The Capital Region's first Chipotle opened in Wilton this past April. There's also a Clifton Park location planned -- Arnold says it "looks like it will open the first part of December."

Arnold says both openings will be accompanied by special promotions. When the Wilton location opened, the company gave away free burritos.

Chipotle has gotten a lot of attention over the last few years for both its surging business and attempts to be socially responsible.

We think the food tastes pretty good, too.

(Thanks, Rob!)

AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm kind of embarrassed about how excited I am.

This is the last thing my bank account needs.

I went to one for the first time last Friday and was really pleasantly surprised. I had sworn off Moe's and figured that Chipotle was of the same ilk. I was wrong. It was quality.

Yeah, nice to see that coming to town. BUT, what a terrible location! The traffic in and out of that spot is nearly impossible at certain times of day.

I dig both, but all things considered i like moes better.

Yay! I'm excited about this!! Chipotle is pretty much the only fast food place I go to and I haven't been to one since I lived in the city!

Do people who don't live in places like Latham, Clifton Park, or Wilton actually visit there? I mean, what actually happens there? Latham has the UPS warehouse, but is there any reason, besides a chain mexican restaurant, to visit Clifton Park or Wilton?

Please advise.

I am so excited that I already have downloaded the iPhone app.

Right now I get the very sad message:
"No locations found nearby. Try again."

It is great news that in two months I'll be able to get my fix locally. Because while I love Chipotle, honestly it's not quite worth the drive to Wilton.

@Erik - People who live in Saratoga go to Wilton. I know this as I work in the Wilton Mall and pretty much anyone living North comes shopping here.

Staring at that picture I keep convincing myself it’s a computer graphic and not an actual place. There are a couple of details (tail light in the bottom left) that inform me otherwise, but I still can’t get over how meticulously standard it all looks. I guess that’s the deal with those locations and places. It’s just a standard lowest-common denominator kind of formula that can be copied and repeated just as easily as a computer file. Ctrl-C Wilton, Ctrl-V Latham)

I don't really understand the need to have three Chipotles within such a small area. Everyone here lives in their car anyway, isn't it realistic to believe that people would travel to get to one? Also, is it possible to have anything other than chain restaurants in this area? How about a little local economic development...

chain chain chain!!!

@Erik: I lived in Albany and I frequently visit all of the above--except somehow I'm hardly in Latham. Clifton Park has a decent shopping area--a few little stores like the funky toy knick-knack place in the mall. Mostly though, it's where the good Marshall's is. Also, they are one of a few Targets in the area that carries the Target GO! visiting designer lines, and because it's not in Albany, they usually have more stock left than the other locations. The Salvation Army there is also neat.

I hit Wilton if I'm in Saratoga anyway. They forever21 and H&M are decent there, although the latter is a bust if you're a guy--no men's section. I won't go out there just to hit a Chipotle though, not with all the much better local joints around (ie, Ravenous).
