Looking everywhere for a new superintendent

Albany High.jpgThe Albany school district is looking for a new superintendent. And Hazard Young, the national firm hired to help move the search along, presumably is leaving no stone unturned. Even the stones on Craigslist.

From the listing under "albany craigslist > jobs > education/teaching jobs > Superintendent (ALBANY)":

The Board of Education seeks a strong leader to continue the District's documented progress in student achievement. Every elementary and middle school has exceeded its state benchmark. Candidates must demonstrate successful, forward-looking experience in an urban setting; a strategic vision for eliminating the achievement gap; and, an overwhelming passion for providing all students with opportunities for achievement and success. A competitive compensation package is offered. Screening will begin in November with a starting date no later than July 1, 2010.
To Apply: Contact Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates at office@HYAsearch.com, Phone: 847-724-8465, or Fax: 847-724-8467.

Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd. describes itself as "one of the premier consulting firms in the United States, providing executive search, board governance, training and professional development services for educational and non-profit organizations."

A close relative works as an executive recruiter for nonprofits. For whatever reason, Craigslist is their best resource. I would guess it does not have the commercial cachet of sites like Monster.
