The Capitol Hauntings Tour

NYS Capitol

You know, in addition to the scary things that usually go on here.

The state is offering the "Capitol Hauntings Tour" again this year. The tours, which explore the "legends, folklore and 'ghost stories'" surrounding the Capitol and promise "many spooky stops," start today.

There are a bunch of tours between now and October 30 -- the schedule is after the jump. The tours are free, but they're popular and capped at 30 people. So, it's best to make reservations: 473-7582.

Day tours: From October 5 - October 30, Monday - Friday - 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm

Evening tours: October 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 at 5:30pm and 7 pm

Saturday tours: October 17, 24, 31 at 3:30 pm, 5:30 pm and 7 pm

(Thanks, Jeff!)

::waits for Ellsass to come and rain on everybody's parade::

;-)

I went on this tour last year, and it was really interesting. Lots of walking, though, so wear comfy shoes. Go on the evening tour--it's way spookier when there's no one around and it's all dark and atmospheric.

Last year's tour was awesome. I cannot wait to do it all over again this year!

Thanks for the reminder - I wanted to sign up last year and didn't! I just signed up, and if they think it's funny to have anyone jump out at us at any point in the tour, then they're going to have a lot of paperwork to fill out due to the heart attack I will no doubt suffer right there at the spot. I am a huge wimp...

I've wanted to do this for years but haven't gotten around to it. I'm definitely doing it this year!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
