Banks and Delillo at Writers Institute Friday
The New York State Writers Institute has quite the duo lined up for its Nelson Algren event this coming Friday night.
Russell Banks and Don Delillo will be there to speak about Algren, who was a mentor to both authors. Banks and Delillo were also part of a Chicago event earlier this year recognizing Algren's 100th birthday.
The Writers Institute will be screening The Man with the Golden Arm, which is adapted from an Algren novel. (The stars Frank Sinatra and Kim Novak. And that poster: Saul Bass.)
Discussion will follow the screening. It starts at 7 pm in Page Hall on the downtown UAlbany campus.

Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

If you have not seen the aforementioned movie, I would hit this event with the quickness - Sinatra is not messing around here. Fantastic stuff.
