Snapshots of gerrymanders

To go along with an editorial about the "dark art form" of gerrymandering New York legislative districts, NYT has posted a series of interesting/head-slapping maps of bizarrely-drawn districts. Our favorite is probably the upstate Senate district that NYPIRG's Blair Horner calls "Lincoln riding on a vacuum cleaner."

Absolutely ridiculous that we allow this crap to happen. Unfortunately if anyone tried to force these districts to be drawn fairly, MoveOn.org would be in here to stop it in a heartbeat. They're really proud of themselves for keeping Gerrymandering in place in California.
